skin care tips

The scorching heat in summer isn’t just going to sweat the body profusely but it will also give sun tans. The sun rays strike us with 6% more intensity during summers because in summers, the sun rays project at an angle of 90 degrees. Due to this, the problem of tanning becomes more intense. But, Ayurveda has a solution for every problem. There are simple best skin care home remedies available for sun tan which are really very simple, effective and safe.

Skin Tanning concept according to Ayurveda:

According to Ayurvedic concept, the regulation of heat in the body is regulated by Pitta dosha in the body. There are 5 subtypes of Pitta dosha in the body out of which Bhrajaka Pitta governs the quality of the skin and due to the imbalance of Pitta dosha in the body, one may get acne, skin rashes, pigmentation of skin etc.

Sun rays are very beneficial for our health but excessive exposure to sunlight, especially when the sun rays are overhead, it can cause hyperpigmentation, sun burn etc.

According to Ayurveda, when Bhrajaka pitta is aggravated, it triggers the formation of a pigment known as melanin which is responsible for skin tanning.

When Ultraviolet rays strike the skin cells, it causes skin damage. As a result, the skin’s inbuilt defence mechanism senses this and triggers such chemicals which signal melanocytes to produce more melanin in order to protect the skin from damage. More melanin in the skin makes it look darker but it protects the skin from severe damage. So, the pigment melanin helps in protecting the skin from damage.
