Coronavirus Vaccine – Italy Claims a Huge Breakthrough (Is It True?)

It’s 5th month after the news of the coronavirus outbreak in China. Since then, the virus has kept threatening people around the world. The whole world is praying to get through this situation.

So far, the ray of hopes has been sparked many times, but none of them lasted for a few days. One such is the development of a vaccine for coronavirus in Italy.

On Wednesday (6th May 2020), Italian scientists claimed they had found the coronavirus breakthrough. According to their report, the vaccine is likely to cure and neutralize the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Just like others Italy also conducted the test of the vaccine on mice. No doubt, every vaccine that works on mice will work on human cells too. Just a day ago, Israel also announced the identification of ‘significant breakthrough’ in developing the antibodies for the vaccine of coronavirus.

In Italy, Luigi Aurisicchio, the CEO of Taxis, a firm developing the COVID-19 medications, said in an interview with Arab News that the vaccine has neutralized the virus in human cells for the first time.

Tests were conducted in Rome’s infectious-disease Spallanzani Hospital, as per which the vaccines have generated the antibodies in the mice with ‘works’ on the human cells.

While interviewing with Italian news agency ANSA, Aurisicchio said, “This is the most advanced stage of testing of a candidate vaccine created in Italy. Human tests are expected after this summer.”

He also added, “As far as we know, we are the first in the world so far to have demonstrated neutralization of the coronavirus by a vaccine. We expect this to happen in humans too.”

The researchers have experimented with the vaccine on mice that generated the antibodies which can block the virus from infecting the cells. The testing was done on five candidates, which caused several antibodies. They selected the two with the best results for further experiments.

This is so far the coronavirus latest news, which is quite relieving and satisfying. Now let’s see how the vaccine is being developed, injected, and how it works.

According to timesnownews.com, The vaccine candidates developed are based on the genetic material of the DNA protein spike. These are injected with the “electroporation” techniques, consisting of an intramuscular injection followed with a brief electrical impulse, which helps the vaccine to break into the cells and activating the immune system.

This makes the vaccine effective for generating antibodies against the ‘spike’ protein, particularly in the lungs, the most vulnerable organ affected by the coronavirus.

The Italian researchers are expecting to start the human trial after this summer. The vaccine developed at Oxford University has begun its phase-1 human clinical trial of the vaccine. Many nations are in the race of finding the coronavirus vaccine, such as the US, UK, China, Italy, Germany, Israel, and many more.

Let’s hope Italy Coronavirus Vaccine results in positive, and all the cases of nCOV in negative. Till the vaccine is out, stay safe, and stay home. For more information on COVID, visit HealthClubFinder.
